The Red Triangle Factory complex is a huge industrial zone in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It’s history starts in the year 1860 when it became one of the first rubber factories in the country. Today the enormous property is a mix of small companies, garages, and rehearsal spaces for musicians. But mostly it is a decaying wasteland, a monument to the old industrialization of the city.
Especially notable are the remnants of Communist propaganda that remain around the complex. Now peeled, moldy, and obsolete, these souvenirs of a bygone era are simultaneously beautifully designed, nostalgic, and a still relevant cautionary tale.
