Captured Audience

In the early eighties, after it stopped functioning as a school but before it was abandoned, this building had a short life as a daycare center. It didn’t last long and soon the school was completely abandoned, along with all the toys from the daycare. As with all my photos, I didn’t rearrange anything for the composition. These stuffed toys were in their seats when we walked in to the auditorium. I like to imagine they come to life when people aren’t around, putting on plays and running amok in the empty school halls.
