Spiral Staircase

On the coast of the Adriatic, less than a half an hour walk from the immensely popular tourist destination that is Dubrovnik's historic old city, lies the remnants of Hotel Belvedere. Opened in 1985, this massive five-star resort operated for a mere 6 years before the Bosnian War forced it to close its doors in 1991. It sustained heavy damage during the war and has been sitting empty ever since, despite its prime location and over 20 years of peace.
