Barrels of Fun

Between 1945 and 1991 the people of Germany (aside from West Berlin) were severely limited with their access to various consumer products. After the fall of the Soviet Union Germans could suddenly enjoy a world of new goods and services. Interest in locally made products dropped dramatically and many businesses, including this brewery, closed down.

One of the great things about abandoned buildings is that graffiti artists can paint undisturbed for hours. Along with the relics left behind, the brewery sometimes felt as much like I was walking through a museum as a ruin.
